End of ’07 recap, on to ’08!
I recently got back from a much-needed vacation over the Christmas and New Years span, which started when I drove from Kansas City to Chicagoland on the 22nd. With a stop in Cedar Rapids to drop off Adrienne’s cat and a few boxes full of clothes and books, it came to a total of ten hours in the Mazda. Not the best ride of my life, but all in all the car held up well. The next ten days were a blur of seeing family, friends, and overall relaxing. A nine-hour drive back to Kansas City on the 1st was complicated by blowing snow in Illinois but otherwise smoother than the drive in; no yowling cat, repairs made to the steering linkage, and a backrest all do wonders for the sanity.
Six days in and 2008′s already been interesting. I’ve purchased a bunch of new clothes, gotten a new haircut, bought a new bed, and started on my resolution to eat better and lose weight. Next on the purchase list: a dining room table, and possibly a new couch. Between the personal changes and Obama winning the Iowa caucus hands-down, it’s shaping up to be a nice year
