Palindromes
I’m not a man who has a ton of quirks, but there is one thing that I do that made a friend of mine ask my girlfriend “Do you know he does this?“: I tip palindromically at restaurants. When the check comes, I figure a good tip, then I round it up so that the total comes out to a palindrome, like $17.71 or something. It may come across a bit OCD but I just like doing it, numerical oddities amuse me. If I’m in a hurry, I don’t bother.
Last week I went out to eat. The check came, and I did my schtick…and the damnedest thing happened:
One of those moments where I wished I’d had a monocle so I could make it pop off in surprise.
Incidentally, Firefox wants to autocorrect “palindromically” to “palindromic ally” – I suppose that’s fitting

Awww, you make me look like the bad guy here. As if I was trying to split you two up. Dan made a palindrome the other day just for you and we took a picture.
