		<description>Don't bother draining the coolant all the way - just drain it part of the way down until it's below the water pump.  Alternately, if you can get a drain pan under about where the coolant will drain, just pop the water pump housing and let it drain from that until it's as low as needed.

And, yes, old cars are cheap and easy to fix.  That's part of the joy.
