		<description>Don&#039;t bother draining the coolant all the way - just drain it part of the way down until it&#039;s below the water pump.  Alternately, if you can get a drain pan under about where the coolant will drain, just pop the water pump housing and let it drain from that until it&#039;s as low as needed.

And, yes, old cars are cheap and easy to fix.  That&#039;s part of the joy.
